If you are using PS CS2 and a wacom tabet then go to the brush settings. It will be a tab on the top right of the page.

Check the first check box "Shape Dynamics" on th size jitter change the "Control" setting to "Pen Pressure"

Then go to the last check box "Other Dynamics" and set the "Control" setting of both the "Opacity Jitter" and "Flow Jitter" to "Pen Pressure"

I have my Opacity Jitter slider set to 6% and the Flow Jitter set to 9%. Set them to what ever you like.

Another thing is to use other than the default color swatches.

If you go to the swatches window, you can get there by the file menu "Window > Swatches" By clicking on the little arrow in the top right corner underneath the close and minimize button on the swatches panel, you click that it will open a drop down. Select on and it will ask you if you want to save you current pallete but you don't need to unless you made a custom one, and want to keep it.

I like the "DIC Color Guide" but check them all out. I like this one cause it give me a lot gray toned options.

Good Luck
